A Fulfilling Monday.
hey folks..
It was a busy Monday. We went to Uptown for me to apply for a Dependent Pass. Guys, in a few days, I will officially be DEPENDENT ON A MAN. YIKES. ;p Alan then met up with his tax attorney and found out just how much tax he has to pay. Depression hit after that.
Lunch was a quick affair in a nearby taiwanese 'restaurant'. Spicy beef tendon noodles, cold tofou with century egg and steamed dumplings made up our brunch.
Alan tried to get me the Callaway golf shoes after that but the shop didn't carry ladies shoes at all. ahahha. I wonder how women in Malaysia play golf? The golf shops here are numerous but the ladies' stuff they sell, limited. You can see why golf is known as a gentleMAN's game. ;p
Anyway, he dropped me off at Pavilion where I self-entertained from 130pm-6pm. I watched a movie, The Golden Compass which left me puzzled and very unfulfilled. Nicole Kidman could not even save the show. However, I loved the cute lil' polar bear. (Have I ever told you I've always wanted one as a pet since young? hahahaha)
Then I visited my favourite shop in Pavilion - Elements and tried on dress after dress, top after top. Minutes later, I emerged a poorer but happier lady. ahahhaa. Bought 2 dresses and 2 tops. My excuse - CHINESE NEW YEAR MAH! hahahaha
Alan picked me up promptly at 615pm, beating the traffic jam cleverly but avoiding though congested roads. My husband is getting smarter, I must say. hahahah. Then we went to dinner at Robson again. This time, we ordered a HUGE FROG (steamed with chicken essence), hot plate venison and some kailan with garlic. YUMMY!
Then it was home sweet home to play with our beloved son. :)

Sunday 20 January 2008
Decadence- this word perfectly describes how Alan and I spent our Sunday.
We woke up late (ard 10am) and fed the absolutely starving Jay Jay and proceeded to fix a decadently delicious ( &of cos sinful) bf. Then, we settled down in front of the google box and finished watching the HK serial dvd. hahahah From episode 17 to 25. hahaaha.
We emerged victorious, at around 530pm and dashed off to Bangsar Shopping Complex to buy my golf shoes. However, there was no size. The salespeople were definitely overpaid as well, judging from their nonchalent attitudes and rude behaviour. ;p We left empty-handed.
We zoomed our way down the crowded streets until we reached a cross junction where there was a huge traffic jam. A crowd had gathered to witness a horrifying sight- I peered through the heads from my seat and saw a man splashing some water on the ground...in a bid to wash away blood stains.. The ground was red and bloody and we saw a dark blue van next to it, containing a black body bag. My hair stood on ends.
It never fails to amaze me how reckless motorists in Malaysia are. It is as though their lives are not worth very much and time is of the essence. Motorcyclists dart in and out of lanes and squeeze themselves in between huge buses or fast-moving cars. Oh yah, I have once seen an amazing sight in KL. 5 people (2 adults and 3 children) were on a moving motorcycle!!! I am talking about 3 young children!!!!! *scary*
Anyway, enough of the serious and back to the frivalous for now:
Our next destination was Crowne Regency Hotel for a relaxing 1hr 45min treat! It's not called the Heavenly Senses Package for nothing, alright? ;) 1hr traditional massage and 45mins foot reflexology. Very soothing and value for money at RM118. However, my masseur had a bad case of BO...so you can imagine... hai! This massage was in a bid to rid Alan of his bad neck ache. Probably from a golf session last weekend - what am I doing, picking up such a dangerous sport?!? hahaha. errr Diving's worse, I guess.
Dinner was at Maredos Restaurant, opposite Alan's office. Expensive but very tasty steak. My red snapper fillet was a bit of a let-down though...
Today, Alan and I have made a life-altering decision. Will update you when we carry it out. :) Nights folks. Love you all.

Thursday - Saturday
Thursday 14 January 2008
Tonight we went out for dinner around our area. This place is just a stone's throw away from our apartment (maybe 1 minute drive?) and houses 2 or 3 restaurants. We tried Robson Hill Restaurant and its fish head curry (20RM for a small one) and baked honey porkribs (14RM). Ahhh I miss eating outside food. Am getting pretty sick of my cooking (even though it's actually quite edible ;p)
Friday 15 Jaunary 2008
In the afternoon, because I was bored to bits, I then whipped out the Yoga DVD (finally) and started this series of stretching. After a while, finding the pace to slow, I decided to pop down to the pool again for my 20 laps and my sauna baking.
Alan then met me for dinner and we went to our usual hang-out, Dragon-I restaurant for our xiao long pao and la-mien fix. Because my lunch had been a miserable few grains of porridge plus 3 slices of pickles and 1 piece of fermented beancurd, I wolfed my dinner down hungrily and ordered steamed yam dumplings for dessert. heeee.
The movie started out horrendously for a girl easily inflicted with motion-sickness. I realised, to my immense discomfort, that the whole movie was filmed Blair-Witch Project- style. I.e. With a moving video-camera effect. Oh my, immediately my head started pounding and I started blaming The Husband for the lousy choice of movie.
However, after my eyes adjusted to the constant unsteady movement, my nervous twitch dissipated, together with my complaints, and I was drawn into the movie. The pace was exhilarating and the action was continuous. The weird alien-like monsters were eerie and bat-like ( I hate bats). And the Husband and I clutched clammy paws throughout the heart-stopping moments of the show.
90 minutes later, the lights came on. The climax, though, left much more to be desired. ;p
We ventured to CarrerFour immediately to convince the Malaysians that without Alan and I, the economy would plummet. The damage was Rm140+. hahaha. I am, till today, amazed at how much we can buy to feed two. hahahhaa.
Lunch was a quickie at Old Time Kopitiam. We both had meesiam. I miss my Mama's home-cooked meesiam. It's so much more delicious!

I wonder why the whole world has the perception that I can't cook for nutz. HmpF! This myth is BUSTED! hahaha

Today the technicians finally came and they helped install our sun-light! Now there's a bright and promising sun glowing at our main door. heee. They put up our clock from ROAMand also our wedding montage as well. O yah, they put up a picture frame that displays a piece of art from Alan's Photography. haahha. It's a photo of an anchor laying to waste on a beach in Japan. Very nice - you can be the judge for yourself, I shall post it up.

Completing my regime, I quickly showered and took a cab to Mid Valley Mega Mall (didn't feel like walking, even though the cab driver informed me that it was only a short walk away). I then bought tickets (no queue) for Cloverfield a movie which boosts the severed head of the statue of liberty in Manhattan.
Alan then met me for dinner and we went to our usual hang-out, Dragon-I restaurant for our xiao long pao and la-mien fix. Then we left for home to glue ourselves to my faithful partner, the google box, till 2am. hahhaa I Love Weekends!
Saturday 16 January 2008
We woke up late. Had a nice breakfast of picnic ham sandwich and milk. Then, after a few episodes of the new HK drama serial we're 'chasing', we left the house with Jay Jay to bring him for his grooming at Kepong Petsmore.
We were late for our appointment with Catherine, a renowned geomancer and arrived approximately at 140pm. She had calculated my fortune based on my 8-zi and told me everything. I must say, my life has been made out to be pretty perfect. :) How lovely!
She also advised me to do business for I have the makings and that I will make good. hahaha. I shall heed her advice. She also told me that I'd make a good teacher. hahahaha. How true! haahha ;p Right ginna?
Lunch was a quickie at Old Time Kopitiam. We both had meesiam. I miss my Mama's home-cooked meesiam. It's so much more delicious!
We went to fetch Jay Jay after buying some stuff at CarrerFour (AGAIN?!!??) and the groomer complained of his knotted fur. We had to pay extra 20RM because of that! Weird policy?!! Anyway, I promise to be more meticulous when brushing his fur daily. This fella struggles and squeals like a bruised pig everytime I try to brush him that I don't try very hard ;P ok ok my fault lah!
We returned home to whip up a storm in the kitchen - Bakuteh soup, fried broccoli and carrots, steamed tiger prawns and white rice were on the menu. Tantalising!Dessert is sitting prettily in the fridge - chilled Honey-dew sago. Purrrrrfect!

My Japanese Rendezvous
Hey all! I'm attaching some of the pictures taken on my trip to Japan (Tokyo, HOkkaido) with ASA Tours from 20-26 December 2007. Was there with my baby, my Mama, my Sis and my Daddy-in-Law. Funny combi, huh? hahaha

Family Portrait
Anyway, the trip was loadsa fun but totally can be described by the popular Chinese saying "Shang Che Shui Jiao, Xia Che Niao Niao" (Direct translation: Get on the bus and sleep, get off the bus and pee). There was lotsa travelling by coach but lotsa good food (you can see us all putting on wgt as the days go by - bbq, steamboat, sashimi, seafood, muaji, crackers, pokey), beautiful soft snow flakes falling on our noses and picturesque backdrops. The people were helpful but unintelligible. The babes were clad very scantily for -10 degrees, with mini-skirts
and stockings and high cut boots. The men, sad to say, were nothing to crow about. But I met the most gorgeous japanese male on this trip (see pic below). Guaranteed drool-worthy!
The crab we bought and ate was almost SGD200 but worth every cent as the flesh was sweet and succulent. We preferred it cooked though and dumped it into our steamboat instead of eating it raw. It swam together with our sea urchin and our huge clams and oysters.
My Lunch!
We had the pleasure to stay in a few hot springs hotels in Hokkaido where guests strip naked and go cooking themselves not-unlike steamboat style in the 43 degrees water. Adventurous, we also tried the outdoor hot spring. Hard to imagine yeah? Well, for those cheeky ones out there, this is an answer to your burning question : NO! The men and the ladies DO NOT soak together. (eeeyerrr)
Well, here are the pictures of my White Christmas in Japan!!

When was the Last Time You Did Something for the First Time?!?
Hello babies.. Ain't my title for today's post something to ponder about? Now just how many of us are caught up in the throngs of mundane existence, Life becoming a vicious and vindictive cycle?
I used to complain of waking up at 0545 everyday. Rushing down the stairs to take a taxi to work at 0625. Reach office by 0650. Start the routine when the bell rings shrilly at 0722. Sing song, take pledge, Teach, teach, Nag nag, Scold scold,Teach, teach...And wait for that final bell of the day. Then drag my tired bag of bones back home either via cab or bus (when I am feeling poor). I will then force my eyes open after dinner to do some marking. And close my eyes at around 2300+, only to dread the beeping of my handphone alarm set for the next day.
Now? I have all the time in the world. And what do I do? hahaha. Therefore, my NEW YEAR'S RESOLUTION is set: I will endeavour to take up new things this year. A SPORT? Diving? Golf? A HOBBY? I've started on clay modelling. It's time to maybe move on to stained glass painting or cross-stitching? (hahaha. just how many of you can imagine me with a needle and cloth in hand? so un-Sharon, you'd say!)
I've started cooking in our vast new kitchen. Boiling soups, frying vege and meat. But now it's time to BAKE cakes and cookies! Ahhh yes, let me try to do that wonderful triamisu Wan Hui has done during Wee's party. ARRRgghhhhh how fattening! Ok Maybe not in the near future then..
Today, I also did something new for the first time. I went swimming! hahaha. Inspired by fellow Singaporean taitai Annie (someone I met on the net) and who is residing in Taipei now with her hubbie, I ventured downstairs alone. Although the pool ain't Olympic-sized, swimming across its length took me approximately 24-27 strokes. And the cleaners just cleaned the pool till crystal-clear prefection!
Today, this under-exercised housewife decided to swim 20laps. ooohh the water was freezing! Then, I went to the sauna in the ladies and baked myself to prefection. hahaha. What a delicious way to spend a morning! I shall swim thrice a week! Promise! Hope my hair doesn't die and fall off though. xp
Oh Yah, instead of Tanjong Jara resort, Hubbie and I will be going to Cameron Highlands to pick strawberries and drink tea admist the rolling hills next weekend. I've done some surfing and found out that contrary to popular belief, there are quite a few things to do in CH and since we will be driving up from KL, we will be able to drive to the local attractions. *exCitEd*
Will definitely take photos and post them here! :)

My Latest Clay Creations
Hello again people. Today I shall post some photographs of my latest (clay) creations. Actually, I've done these quite some time ago, in Lanson Place, but haven't had the opportunity
(or the enthusiasm) to post them online.
I think I am improving in my art. At least my figurines don't look 2-d anymore, yea? hahaaa.I especially like the CresBear. She looks kindly. :P
I'm also going to spend sometime downloading stuff today and maybe creating more figurines (if I can find the will power). My Yoga DVD is sitting forlornly on the tv console - we just bought it 2 nights ago at 1utama. I shall endeavour to commence on my regime. Alexis' half marathon motivation has spurred me.. i think...Hope she & ecky are as enthu abt our pending diving course and trip in March?!!?
I just called Tanjong Jara Resort. We had intended to go there for a weekend escapade on 25th Jan - 27 Jan but it's still monsoon season. No wonder 50% off packages lah! *pouts* I guess it'll be strawberry picking on the highlands then. ;) Save TJ for a not-so-rainy-day! hahaha.
