Mother n Son Adventure + Welcome to Malaysia!!!

16 May 2008
Today, in the late morning, Jay Jay and I went on an Adventure! Errr.. Actually I brought him to the groomer's. hahaha.

well, when he saw the sporty green bag which we always use to carry him, Jay Jay tried his darnest to squeeze into it (even though it was zipped shut). ahahah. Very funny. and when I unzipped it, he hopped promptly into it and lay down. His pleading eyes read, "Mummy, I wanna go gai gai!"

Awwww

We took a taxi (driven by a nice old man who spoke good english) and went to Ikano Power centre. Whilst Jay Jay was being traumatised, I strolled to Pet's Lovers centre and checked out the cute pups. oOohhh GoshhHh the English Bulldog puppies were the cutest! My heart ached for one but I am sure The Husband would not relent. (he doesn't like their faces) There were some cute Malteses and terriers and shitz tzus as well.

I went a-shopping at The Curve after that and bought a bag for TK and some stuff for Hayden (entirely claimable, not to worry). I then headed to Watson's for some necessities and then to IKEA for my dismal (read: Combo A = 1 hotdog + 1 softdrink = RM3) lunch. I hurriedly stuffed the stuffed bun into my mouth and then went to pick up Jay Jay.

We crossed over to where quite afew taxis were waiting but they all refused to go by metre, citing traffic jams and watever not. Finally, after much haggling (and their pointing to Jay Jay in the bag), I settled for a "gu wak zai" young taxi-driver with a long pinky fignernail.
We got into his modified taxi (complete with F1 car seats) and zoomed (yes, I am not exaggerating) off for home.

Soon, I will have to take another taxi to Alan's (new) office and we will go fetch my family at the airport together.

night:

After fetching Mum and Jean fr the airport, we took another 45mins to get back to town. Then, we burnt some time at Pavilion shopping whilst waiting for May to come. Alan went back to the office sadly.

We met May at Corus at almost 8pm and then headed to Sungei Wang to change money and do some light shopping before ZiChar dinner at Jalan Alor and then massages at Liang Xin till around midnight. :D

A Weird Dream

Hahaha I woke up with a bright smile on my face and recalled my weird dream hours ago. I was back in school and it seemed like the WHOLE SCHOOL was celebrating my birthday. We were at the stadium and there even was a march-pass. All the kids were carrying red balloons and the formation created was Happy Birthday! Wah. weird until...

Anyway, the Choco Chip cookies are in the oven and baking. They are welcome gifts for my family who will be arriving tomorrow evening for a visit. My mum and my two younger sisters will be here. :D And will be staying till late Monday. :D I have pushed back or cancelled all my tuition lessons and will be the good host and bring them around. Monday is Vesak Day somemore.

We will be visiting Pavilion, 1 Utama, the Curve, Jalan Maluri etc. There will be LOADSA shopping, IMMENSE feasting and an entirely decadent long weekend to look forward to. :D

4:18pm
I just finished cooking dinner - fried rice with spiced pork cubes and pork ribs and black beans soup. Will steam the prawns later with the new old steamer which we karpohed from my house in Spore. It had been stored away for the longest time - perhaps as my parent's wedding gift?- and now it is seeing daylight again. Amazingly, it works perfectly fine.

Hayden was his usual impish self again and I have notice my tolerance level getting lower and lower. Perhaps it's PMS? Or maybe it's Mother Nature telling me NOT to have children of my own. I just can't stand wriggly worms who squirm about. I think MOE put me in a secondary school for a reason. :P

Anyway, I've news. Alan and I have sponsered Melissa, a 14-year-old girl in Mike's orphanage in Indonesia. Our teenaged 'daughter' would like to be a "pramugari" (air hostess) when she grows up and is absolutely delighted that we have chosen her and promises to study very hard to get good results. We hope that we will make a difference in at least one person's life on this earth.

Our hang-up: We fell in love with Stephanie, the 8yearold whose father still hasn't collected her from the orphanage even though he told the principal he was remarrying and going to bring his daughter from the first marriage to live with him. Stephy's real mother also has turned up recently and given very little thanks to the orphanage people for taking such good care of her. Alan and I initially wanted to sponser this little child but because of all the above, didn't. I have decided, that if Stephanie continues to remain at the orphange for long term, I will sponser her myself. :D With all the ringgit I am earning! haha. What do you think?

It's Finally Midweek!

Yesterday, Hayden fell asleep whilst colouring during my class, exhausted from his day-to-day adventures. Sad to say, his day was not over- he had piano lessons after my class. His mum moved him to my couch and he slept there till his mum carried him to the car.

Avik came then and we tackled two short postcards. There are three more to go and I swear I shall not tax the poor boy so much next time. haahaha. Must infuse more drawing and arts and craft with his class and not treat him like his all-grown-up.

At night, after 2 hours of prac crit of An Inspector Calls (the play) and Holes (the novel), my throat hurt and my head was pounding. I waited for my husband to come home by 9-something (he reached at 9:58pm) and then mindless watched some tv - the first of the week.

Today:
14 may 2008 Wednesday

I have three classes today. 1030-12, 230-330 and 6-8pm. In between I shall sneak in some rest and cooking. :D i can almost sniff out the weekend, and it excites me!!!! Yipeeeeeeeeee

5:48pm
I just woke up from a half an hour nap half an hour again. hahah. Hayden's tuition has been postponed to tomorrow (at the last min) and I've only one class left for tonight which will start in 10 mins.

I am thinking of starting up creative writing courses for children and infusing art with English. Shall need to do more research but my target is a class of five students (no less but not many more) and perhaps five lessons in total (1.5hours each).

What do all my ginnahs think? Got any interesting stuff that your younger siblings are learning that you wanna share with me? hahahaha.quick email me

For Peiting...

The human seasons
FOUR Seasons fill the measure of the year;
There are four seasons in the mind of man:
He has his lusty Spring, when fancy clear
Takes in all beauty with an easy span:
He has his Summer, when luxuriously
Spring’s honey’d cud of youthful thought he loves
To ruminate, and by such dreaming high
Is nearest unto heaven: quiet coves
His soul has in its Autumn, when his wings
He furleth close; contented so to look
On mists in idleness—to let fair things
Pass by unheeded as a threshold brook.
He has his Winter too of pale misfeature,
Or else he would forego his mortal nature.

PurPLe Sweet Potato Soup

My PURPLE sweet potato soup is on the stove and shimmering. I shall pass some to my neighbours later. Apparently, these sweet potatoes are tremendously expensive and are from Japan. But now my soup is an interesting purple... hmmmm...

I have three tuition classes and the first commences at 230pm. Will be working till around 830pm this evening so just as well Alan's out for his dinner appointment.

Oh yah, I have lost three students (the class of three). One is quitting her join her and returning to Ipoh and the other will be out-stationed in due time and the last is just lost without the other two. ahhaha.

So now, the number is down to ten, although officially I haven't started lessons with Salwa's twin 10-year-old daughters yet. She wants me to give them creative writing lessons and I am sure we will have lots of fun again :D It sure beats teaching the BASIC FUNDAMENTAL ENGLISH to adults, I guess. But hell, I ain't complaining. At least I am making my RM, although it has been getting weaker and weaker. hahaha.

The Start of a New Week

hey guys! Thank God I'm feeling much better but Alan's still down. In fact, as I type, he's still in bed. He's hoping that he'll recover soon as he has a teleconference at 3pm today. I am cooking him some light porridge as he hasn't had much to eat since yesterday morning. Gosh, my husband actually looks slim now!!

Anyway, today's a light day for me too. I've only an hour slot with Hayden to grapple with. YaY. I actually should get outta the house and grab some groceries but I shall wait and see how Alan's feeling. Maybe I'll leave later, after tuition and then Alan can fetch me back on the way home. We'll see..

By the way, my mama and sister(s) will be coming for a visit this coming weekend.Yeay! hahaha. I have the itinerary all planned out already. haahhaa. It will be a fun-filled and utterly sinful weekend (again)!! Hahaaha and the unbelieveable thing is, I have already moved most of my tuition so that it will not coincide with the exciting plans. Muahhahahaa. (00)v

In the end, I waited for the aircon service man till late n then decided to stay in until my sickly husband came to take me to the MVMM. The exchange rate was SGD1: Rm2.34! A record high for us in KL.

We had a quick dinner at C-Jade Express and Alan had tasteless Beijing Ramien with dumplings and I had a sizzling hot (if not anything) Korean hotstone rice. Our desserts were (of course) served to us before our main meal and those were bland and tasteless as well. O well..

We hit JUSCO just to pick up some necessities and forgot that Alan had to attend a business dinner tomorrow. ;p Then it was Home to Rest.

Sick on Sunday? SHEESH!

Dear all,

How miserable to work so, so hard all week, only to be sick on Sunday. ;p
I suffered from IBS (guess?) and a fever and Alan's IBS is MUCH worse.

We slept all day long (after my 2hr tuition in the morning with Su Li) and woke up to douse our throats with honey water a couple of times.

My mum messaged at ard 4pm to thank us for the card we had instructed my maid to pass to her to wish her Happy Mothers' Day. She had originally thought the card was from my maid!!? *sheesh*

It's now almost 7pm and I have just cooked alan and myself some wanton soup. Our first real meal of the day..Bon appetit!
