We headed back to Spore on Thursday 24th September and got home after a 4hr drive at nearly midnight. Alan was starving so we headed to buy meepok before arriving home in Siglap.
25th September 2009 Friday
We woke up late and left the house late. Having been invited to a buffet luncheon at Orchard Hotel, Alan and I indulged in local cuisine and chatted with Mum and Dad and Chris and his mother.
Then, we picked up some muffins at the hotel for Zesa and family and then went to fetch our baobei Ash home.
After dropping Zesa off at Bugis and Ash off at home, it was time to head towards Hougang to visit Vicky and her newborn. Elaine gave us directions when our GPS couldn't be trusted and finally we got there. Vicky's daughter (whose name will probably be Rain / Clouds/ Thunder), has lashes longer and curlier than famous Bollywood actresses and she will definitely grow up to be a beauty. :) I finally got over my trepidation of small fragile babies and carried the little one :)
We got home around 9pm and showered and had dinner with Mum at 9+pm. Then, Yvonne came over with Paul and the two preggers compared belly shapes and sizes till almost 11pm.
Saturday 26th September 2009
We roused early and went to fetch TK and then headed to my inlaw's place. The bride was all made up and dressed and she looked lovely ! :D There were to be 10 sisters and 10 brothers and boy was the flat sweltering. After Chris barged in to claim the bride, we hastily left for Amara Sanctuary.
Alan and I dashed off to practise our emcee speech and then I had a quick shower before the make-up artist coloured my face. and then it was TIME.
The luncheon started at around 130pm and we invited all the guests to stand to welcome in the bride and groom. Everything went smoothly but ended pretty late at around 5pm.
After e'thing was over, we were exhausted and headed home to jump into bed till almost 9pm. Then, we went for a late dinner of frogs legs porridge at Geylang G7, after collecting some stuff from Kee Kiat at the Waterina.
Sunday 27th September 2009
Although we had planned to sleep in, we still woke up at around 9+am. After sending mummy to Parkway parade to pick up a present, we proceeded to Centrept for brunch (of meesiam / pohpiah / yam cake) and then met my inlaws for some shopping.
We picked up MORE baby stuff in Robinson's even though we had thought we had bought almost e'thing. We bought some baby bath foam / bottle and nappy detergents etc. Tea break was at Toast Box and I chatted with an overly-friendly old lady who shared with me all her four delivery experiences :P
Soon, after picking up some dog food for Bizzy and Myra, we headed to far east plaza because Alan wanted to buy some stuff for his RC Car. I felt so outta place shopping in Far East - a shopping haven for the young and annorexic, that i was yearning to leave ASAP.
We went to pick up TK again and this time joined Chris and family as well for dinner at Bien Tin at OCBC Centre at Chulia Street. The food was goood and we enjoyed ourselves and overate as usual.
Monday 28th September 2009
I headed to Parkway by bus myself and did some shopping (a nursey rhyme book for Ethan and a newborn to 1 year baby book for myself) at Borders before Kala turned up (late as usual).
Starving because I hadn't had bf, I ordered a set lunch at Swensen's (soup / soft drink / chilli prawn pasta) and after devouring that, enjoyed a hot fudge sundae. Oooolalaaaaaa.. I swear I shall go on a strict diet after my confinement.... :X
After chit-chatting with Kala for almost 3hours, I bade her farewell (the poor soul had to go to school) and shopped around. I bought some stuff at Kiddy Palace and then also went into Isetan for MORE baby stuff. Then, to satisfy my cravings of yester-year, I bought 5 polar cafe sugar rolls (1 each for everyone in the household).
Alan fetched me after his business lunch and meeting with CTO and we went back to siglap.
After stopping by at the ATM and the NTUC, we drove through a Mac's to pick up burgers for dinner and then left the causeway at around 630pm and arrived back in KL, Bangsar at approx 10pm.

Our fantastic long weekend. YaY
20 September 2009 (Sunday)
Today started out in a daze as the dogs barked loudly last night till the wee hours of the morning because of the din of the fireworks due to the Hari Raya Celebrations. ;P
We woke up at 8+am and then left for doggie school for Coco's lesson. After that, we didn't even have the energy to have breakfast out and left for home immediately after class.
At home, we tucked into breakfast and then stoned for a while before showering and heading to Cres at The Gardens for our long-awaited facial. Heavenly. Both Alan and I relished the two hour nap and treatment.
We had something light to eat ( toasted sesame seed bread and charcoal bread with pandan kaya and taro) , bought three curry puffs for sup and then went back home to continue watching dvds. ;) We treated En to Canadian Pizza and spicy chicken drumlets for Hari Raya. :D
21 September 2009 (MondaY)
A full day of shopping was on our minds. We chose Sunway Pyramid - a huge shopping mall which is visited by many Sporeans on vacation regularly. So after breakfast of curry puffs and leftover pizza, Alan and I showered and left for SP.
We had many things (mainly baby stuff) to buy and therefore made a beeline for the LG1 which house many a store catering to babies and toddlers. However, along the way, Walk In, a shoe shop waylaid us and I bought shoes for casual wear and also for Sharon's wedding and Alan bought two pairs of business shoes (because they were cheap). ahahaa
We picked up many items (including bath mats, pacifier keeper, cotton balls, cloth nappies etc etc) from three different shops and then headed to the basement for food because it was late and we were starving.
We had ramen in a halal shop and it actually tasted good. Satiated, we continued walking.
I bought some wall stickers for Ethan's room happily for RM32. We will put them up when the minor rennovation work in his bedroom is over and done with. We also picked out some essentials at Watson's etc.
After having a drink at Berry Smoothies, we decided to have a less sinful dinner at home. By the time we got home, the fried beehoon meal was prepared and we ate it up dutifully and then settled down to watch dvds again!
22 September 2009 (Tuesday)
Unlike Singapore, Malaysia , being a Muslim country has another day of public holiday in celebration of Hari Raya. (YAY) We woke up early (relatively) today at 9am and then headed out to enjoy a nutritious breakfast of fishhead beehoon soup. Yumz.
Next stop: The Gardens and Mid Valley Mega Mall. We bought tickets for Tsunami (a Korean movie) at 1245pm and had an hour to burn before the show. We checked out items at Toys 'R US and also single seater sofas with reclining qualities. Alan had initally wanted to purchase a two seater movie reclining sofa but I had persuaded him otherwise.
After the traumatising movie, we went to Ace Hardware to buy leather furniture cream and to Toy City to pick up a set of alphabet play mats to decorate Ethan's room. Also, we hopped into MPH to buy some other stuff. It was soon icecream time and I chose Mac Donald's one ringgit icecream cone and Alan had his strawberry milkshake.
Then, we headed to Lorenzo at Seputeh to choose our single seater recliner. We settled on one going for a steal at RM1592 but it only can be delivered at the end of October.
Home Sweet Home.

Our First House Party
Yesterday, 19 September 2009 was a real hectic day for us all.
Alan and I slept in till almost 11am and then hurriedly left the house to shop for fresh food and groceries for the party that evening. First, we headed over to the promising wet market to pick up some fresh prawns for our Seafood Aglio Olio and then we bought 7 slices of tender pork chops for Alan's creation.
After our pork porridge breakfast, we returned home to throw the food in the fridge and then ventured to TMC to pick up MORE foodstuff. I was i/c of making creamy mushroom soup and the salad that evening and I also had to bake the doggies a birthday cake.
Again, we spent RM300+ in TMC (we are fast turning out to be their biggest spenders) and then zoomed back at around 2pm to start the cooking mania. I started by baking the Almond and Banana Cinnamon Cake for all the doggies. That took a while and after the blending, mixing, baking and cooling, I creamed the top facade and then Alan sprinkled some icing sugar on it. Oooolalaaaaaa.
Next came the mushroom soup. I used shitake and portobello mushrooms and some garlic and butter and very soon, a creamy and delicious soup was boiling on the stove.
Alan came in then to cook up a storm. His Seafood Aglio Olio had fresh herbs, prawns and squid and was just marvellous. So was the apple sauce and pork chops. What a spread.
By 7pm, our guests had arrived and they ooo-ed and awwww-ed at the house politely.
We had invited the Tan family (whose poodle, Chloe attends the same class as Coco) and also Yi Siong and Sheena - Coco's godparents, who brought along their Westie, Bizzy and their showdog poodle, Myra.
Then, we all tucked in. *yumz* For dessert, we served up fruits (strawberries / bananas) and marshmellows with a chocolate fondue fountain. Meiting had brought a home-baked butter cake to add to the spread :) Then, all gathered to sing Coco a birthday song to celebrate his first birthday belatedly. :D All 5 dogs gathered to enjoy the home-baked cake as well. They also went home with a doggie-bag made up of some of the cake and also a tub of milk cookies I had baked specially for them.
The 5 dogs went chasing one another around and we had a field day watching them.. hahaha That's entertainment for you. The humans bonded over chocolate fondue and chatted about their pooches. hahaha. Amazing, the party lasted till almost midnight! :O

Selamat Hari Raya
HAPPY LONG WEEKEND FOLKS. The one good thing about living in a majority- Muslim country is the extra public holiday during Hari Raya! *yay* The weekend has started and it will end only on Tuesday next week. Whoopeeee!
Tomorrow evening at around 7pm, we have a house party during which we will host 2 families ( 8 people in total including ours) and a total of 5 dogs (including Jay Jay and Coco). ahahaha. Alan will whip up a storm in the kitchen and present his speciality - Seafood Aglio Olio. He will top it up with yummy pork chops. I will be responsible for salad and creamy mushroom soup. For dessert, we will serve up chocolate fondue with strawberries, bananas and mashmellows and our friends will bring with them a decadent chocolate cake. hahaa. Sounds utterly sinful. The dogs will have a freshly baked banana cake to celebrate the one year birthdays of Coco, Myra and also Chloe as well as some home-made milk cookies - all done by yours truly. :) It will truly be an exciting few hours... :D Now let's hope the doggies won't baptise any of our furniture. :X
On Sunday, we will also head to Cres for the much-lusted after facial session at 1230pm. And then on Monday perhaps we will head to MVMM again to check out the Baby Expo. There are still so many items to buy in preparation of Ethan's arrival. :)

A Visit to the Clinic and Hospital
After a huge plate of fried rice each for lunch, Alan and I sent Ening for her medical check up in a clinic in Bangsar. After her blood test and physical examination, we had to bring to Pantai Medical Centre for a follow-up X-ray. *sigh*
After the X-ray, the wait was around 30-45mins so we all burnt some time with a Baskin Robins cone each. (That was probably the highlight of my day.) And then after we collected the X-ray report, we had to make our way back to the clinic to hand it over to the receptionist who promised to expedite En's application to work in Malaysia.
It was almost 5pm when Alan drove us back. ZzZzz Not one of the more exciting days in KL, definitely!
On a lighter note, I baked Cheesy Herb Scones today. They look yummy (if I may say so myself) but I haven't tried any yet. ahahhaha.

A visit to see Ethan
8 September 2009 (Tuesday)
We arrived at Dr Ravi's clinic 10mins late for our 10am appointment today but ironically still had to wait another 25mins or so to see him. From the last appointment, a month ago, our precious prince, Ethan, had already put on another 600g and is now tipping the scales at 1.45kg! *claps* Don't ask how much weight HIS MOTHER has put on though - very sensitive topic :P
After waving to Ethan via ultrasound screening, Alan dropped Ening and I off at Pavilion for some light shopping. I booked us a movie (G.I. Joe at 230pm) and then we headed into Parkson to spend the remaining vouchers I had.
Compared to Singapore, the choices of baby products here in KL are very limited. I ended up just buying 2 pacifiers (which I hope I will never have to use), a milk powder container, a baby comb and brush set and a pair of long pants and 2 pairs of shorts for Ethan. Ethan has LOADS of shirts but very few bottoms!
After that, we roamed into ROAM, Borders etc whilst waiting for Alan to meet us for lunch. We had Pepper Lunch - a Japanese DIY Teppanyaki Restaurant (it functions more like a fast food joint) and Alan and I enjoyed our beef steak set lunch
whilst Ening wrote Happy Hari Raya cards to her family members.
We coincidentally bumped into Uncle Jimmy as well and he didn't recognise me because of my baby bump (actually, it's not a bump, it's more like a HILL). Ening and I enjoyed (errr... that's an overstatement) G.I. Joe which lasted all of 2 hours. Then, we went to roam again whilst waiting for Alan to join us. I bought stuff at Watsons and also 3 egg tarts for supper whilst watching our serial. :D
The husband and I mulled over which clocks in Molecue to place in our living room 1 and 2 and emerged from the shop empty-handed. Then, we had dinner at a HK cafe on the top floor of Pavilion. Dont know what's the name though.
My set of Borch soup , fruits and a pork ribs with fried rice was average but Alan's fried udon was as delicious as it was salty. En broke fast with a plate of fried rice and honey glazed chicken. Then we left for home to sayang the poor dogs who had been caged up since the night before. :(

Malacca with Puppy.com
5 September 2009 (Saturday)
We packed our bags and headed for Malacca Afarmosa resort with En and the two little ones today at around noon time. But before that, we had a tasteless wanton noodle breakfast at the coffeeshop in Bangsar. Gosh Malaysian hawker fare pales definitely in comparison with Singapore's. :P
We arrived at around 130pm at Afarmosa and drove to the clubhouse to check in. When we entered our Family Studio, we were quite disappointed at the quality of lodging (for RM240, we feel we deserved better). The room was old and cramped and not very exciting. En took the designated couch - which apparently was more comfortable than our bed ;P
After a sandwich / french fries lunch, we headed back to the room for a short snooze and then emerged unwillingly, under the hot sun, to join in the puppy.com games and fun. There were quite a few games for the doggies - such as The Best Recall dog (the dogs lined up on one end of the field and the owners on the other end and as the horn blew, the dogs were supposed to run to their owners), the Best Dressed Dog (Jay Jay's lady bug costume didn't win him nuts), The Best Simon Says Dog (Jay Jay went quite far but was eliminated for sitting next to me and Coco actually won third placing - a trophy, no less- but it was his father who had gotten him eliminated from the competition. hahahaha), Best Trick Dog, Best Sit-Stay dog etc.
We all had a good time, albeit being burnt by the scorching rays of Mr Sun and adding more unwanted freckles to my arms and face. :P At almost 545pm, the games ended and we bade the Tan Family goodbye and went back to the studio for a quick shower.
Then, it was CRAB GALORE! Alan drove like 45mins to our milky crab restaurant (Fei Lee- opposite Bay View Hotel) and we indulged in three crabs - milky and spicy and sour, seafood horfun and a claypot toufu with vegetables. Ening ate like there was no tomorrow - apparently it was her first time eating crabs! :O The bill- RM172. Quite cheap when considering what we had ordered.
Next stop: Although absolutely zonked out, we decided to hit Jonker Walk which was just a stone's throw away from the restaurant. We parked at the car park and took a leisurely stroll down Jonker Walk (and memory lane). Nothing very much caught our eye, although I did contemplate buying the cool and chic umbrellas (which came packaged as a bottle). I bought Ethan 3 hangers and 3 Keychains (in the shape of Croc's sandals - coupled with the little buttons somemore!) and 6 paper holders. Very cute.
Strolling on further, Alan picked up some microfibre cloth and we contemplated buying a RM15 (onion / garlic cutter). We stopped by the big stage to have our durian chendol and also to watch and listen to some singers croon. Then, we headed back to the car.
The night for me was not a restful one. I had gallantly given En my quilt and since I had a bed to myself and my husband was afraid of the cold, I volunteered to sleep w/o a quilt , just directly under the airconditioner. I fell asleep almost immediately but woke up a couple of times in the night because of the cold.
6 September 2009 (Sunday)
En decided not to fast today and joined us for breakfast because the Tans had offered us their breakfast coupon. We had an unappetising breakfast of cold noodles and sambal and toasted bread with yucky jam and then headed back to KL thankfully.
Alan drove like Schumi and we arrived back home in no time at all and then vegetated in front of the tv , watching our dvd serial. In the evening, after I had a short nap, we headed out to the pasar malum to pick up our usual seafood / fruits / vegetables. Dinner was a miserable and soggy Char Kuay Teow which we did not enjoy at all. ;P
