Our weekend -tiringly fulfilling

Friday the 13th was spent alone at home. I had three tuition classes in the day - Phoebe's , Hayden and Avik's combined class and also Dania's. Alan went to karaoke after work with his colleagues and sang his lungs out and I sketched violently online in his absence, not missing him one single bit. kekekeke

Saturday 14th June

Alan went with Loh to view Wei Jin's new house and decide on the security systems to install for them. They will provide them top-notch systems and service, I have no doubt! :D
He brought back curry mee for me, courtesy of Wei Jin and we started our drawing fits into the early afternoon.

Then, we took a much needed nap, having slept at 3+ the previous day.

It was 5+pm when we finally left the house for some fresh air. We headed for KLGCC to throw some balls in the gutter. haahhaa Alan brought along his own ball and wore his own shoes (that spoke, if u know what i mean...). After 2 games each, we were aching away and decided that was enough torture for the day. (The total cost -for members- for two pairs of shoes, and 4 games in total??? RM14.70!!!!!!!) how amazing.

Dinner was at the Terrace and Alan had penang char kuay teow and I had mee rebus. We shared some tulang soup which was absolutely delicious!!! *claps*

We went to The Gardens next with the aim of watching a movie but amazingly, the seats were all sold-out. So we roamed around and ended up buying a purple clay teapot (we love tea) and some dark tea and green tea to neutralise all the sinfulness in our bellies.

And shopped at Robinson's to buy Alan a water tumbler to store his hot tea at work. ahhaha. So spoilt! We also contemplated buying the Corelle set but didn't in the end even though it is very suitable for the butter-fingered maid. :P

Sunday 16th June

Happy Fathers' Day Daddy! We love you lots!!!! :D

We woke up in time to bring Jay for his class. The teacher praised him for being an "EXCELLENT" student and we beamed in pride. But as the sunrays grew stronger, Jay grew irritable and refused to obey the "DOWN" command. I guess it's because the ground was dirty and his cushy lil' pillow wasn't there , all laid out for him. ahahhaa. The spoilt brat!!!

We zoomed down to Ikano Power Centre and visited the vet who determined that Jay should get his rotten teeth pulled out and his eyes ducts flushed due to excessive tearing. We will bring him to do that at a hospital the coming week.

Jay was also sent for grooming and we then headed for lunch, deciding to try Absolute Thai. The decision made was a great one as we savoured our meal delightedly. My spaghetti with basil leaves was flavourful and the papaya salad and the tom yum seafood soup did not disappoint. Only alan's pineapple rice was a little bland.

We then went into Ikea to buy some spoons. A few hours later, Rm280 poorer, we left Ikea, WITHOUT the spoons. hahahaa *faint*

Exhausted after transporting all the barang barang back home (toge with the irate and almost bald doggie), we rested for a short while and then decided to head to the Gardens for dinner.
Little Penang Kafe was our choice for that meal. My Acar fish set was OK whilst Alan's (extra cockles) laksa was quite delicious. I was adventurous and ordered a nutmeg drink too.
We then shopped at Carerrfour and stocked up for the week. :D The end.

Happy Thursday at the Pavilion

Friday the 13th!

Hey guys. I am feeling super sleepy cos we slept at 2am last night. Waiting for my student to arrive..the one who is perenially late.

I spent the whole of yesterday lazing around and playing the isketch game. hahaha. it's the life but I fought away pangs of guilt eventually. I took a short nap before heading out to Pavilion to pick up our movie tickets and meet Alan for dinner.

Alan was slightly later and I browsed through the different shops to kill time. I ended up in Pull and Bear and had decided on a RM109 white shirt-top before Alan joined me. He then took a fancy to a pair of very expensive berms. N bought them after trying on different pairs.

Dinner - to save money- was at the food court and I patronized my fav taiwanese stall whilst alan ate kimchi maggie mee which could easily be cooked at home for him. ;p We then did a bit of shopping at Watson's and Speedy Videos and I finally bought my Sky Wu CD. It's like not in the market anymore and I was astonished to see it sitting on the shelf and staring at me as if calling out.

The movie, The Incredible Hulk was entertaining and at times, touching. The special effects were great but the popcorn failed to please (me). Alan has lower standards. ahahhaa.

We headed for home after that and then groomed Jay Jay with the eye Envy and also played a few rounds of iSketch before crawling into bed.

Dinner with the Uncles

WHOOPS. Audrey smsed me to say she cannot meet me today. But the SHIOK thing is: I HAVE NO TUITION TODAY! hahahha so I will probably still make my way down to Pavilion to shop around and then meet me darling for dinner and movie. We wanna catch the Incredible green Slimy thing and watch to see if his parts increase in size when he starts to morph. hahaha. :P

Yesterday was spent cooking in the day before my 4hours-straight of tuition. But during the last half an hour of my tuition, Alan called to say that we were invited down for dinner at robson's to dine with Uncle Tong and wife who was in town and Uncle Jimmy - two of my dad's closest friends. Ms Tang, Uncle Jimmy's sales executive, joined us too.
After my class, I hurriedly prepared and rushed downstairs and into the already waiting car and we zoomed not more than 200m to reach the restaurant. Everyone was already waiting and they had already ordered.

Dinner was a feast of chicken, steamed soon hock, vege, sea cucumber and frogs legs but after which Alan suggested ordering a few more dishes - both of us silently didn't feel filled at all! hahaha So a pork ribs came together with an udon. *burp*

We chatted and laughed and I croaked -tuition does wonders to my voice- and by the time the meal ended, it was already 1015pm!
Yesterday, my youngest sister Jean also introduced me to this very addictive interactive game called Isketch. (It's a wonder I am updating my blog n not playing it now!) It's an online version of Win, Lose or Draw and players log on and enter different rooms and take turns to draw words for players to guess. I introduced it to Alan and we played till almost 1 last night! Muahahha
By the way, Jay Jay is so smartie pants!he can climb onto our bed using a pillow as his prop and ladder. hahaha He hurried joined us at least 5 times last night until I told him a firm "NO!"

Our Plan for the week..

Umms.. Nothing much to update actually. I have just finished my lunch (Mr Potato and Mrs Carrot soup - the third party with a piece of pork rib and the fourth party was some cabbage) and am waiting for my two tuition lessons to start in a few hours time.

This week, there's plenty lined up:

Thursday's my meet-up with Audrey at Pavilion and then dinner with the husband. Hmmm shall we head to the prawn noodle place for dinner? Or try the bakuteh stall nearby? hahaah.

On saturday, after my tuition, we will be joining the Kuas to watch Kungfu Panda. We wanted to check it last weekend but it was so full and no good seats were left.

Sunday is Jay Jay day! We will attend class in the morning and then head to Ikano Power centre for the vet to take a look at his tear stains and shaky teeth. He has two molars above which are shaky and two teeth below growing side by side. Haiyah.. so many problems! Then, we will pop by Stylessentials to get Adrian to groom Jay Jay. What a long and tiring day for the poor lil pup! :(

The Start of yet Another Week

It's 9 June and it's amazing how time flies. I will be heading for Hayden's in 7mins but just thought I'd pop in to say HI. Think Alex and Elaine are shopping their heads off in HK. Hope the weather's good. It stinks to be on tour and faced with gloomy weather conditions. N hope Elaine's shopping speed has increased. hahaha

I will be meeting Audrey (ah Neo) in Pavilion for tea on Thursday. Coincidentally, I've only a morning class that day. Pavilion's chill-out joints on the third floor deserve exploration and that's exactly what we shall do! :D

Then, I will try to make my way by foot to Alan's office. hahaha. N hope that I won't get lost again (like the previous time). hahah. O well. There's always Uncle Taxi or my ability to cajole the husband to pick me up or join me in Pavilion even admist the immense traffic jams. :P

Tonight's menu:

Stir-fry beef with spring onion and ginger
sambal kangkong
Crab Meat with Egg
Old Yellow Cucumber with Pork Ribs and dried scallops soup.

For dessert, Alan will be preparing his delicious honey-dew and sago. And I will dutifully distribute some to our neighbours. hahaha. YuMs

I can finally SMELL the WEEKEND!

Hey guys! It's FRIDAY! *claps* This week has passed by in a blur and whirlwind. Alan has still been coughing quite violently I must say and I have played the role of his nurse (sans the kinky uniform) to a T.

I, myself, have been fighting the Cough Bug that threatens to invade my throat with cups and cups of honey water and sour plums and whatever nots. We have just polished off another bottle of organic honey but I've already invested in a bottle of the finest Manuka honey from Eu Yan San for him on my quick solo trip to MVMM on Wednesday.

Nothing much to update really, as things have wound back to their mundane grind. Wonder what we will do this weekend? Judging from the fact that we haven't watched a movie in AGES, perhaps it will be time to hit the cinemas? Any good movies to recommend??? Hulk and Sex are not out yet in KL. hahaa

Pangkor Laut Resort -3D2N Luxurious Escapade

We' re back from the sunny island of Pangkor Laut! Oh God it was a FANTASTIC n truly invigorating experience and I have not had so much fun and excitement in a very long while. I've realised that I need to shy away of the run-of-the-mill developed country "getaways". They are always so predictable and so mundane. Sometimes, you don't even feel like you are on holiday!?!
Pangkor Laut Resort was so so different.. Let me recount our experience:

31 May 2008 (Friday)
We left the house at 6+am in order to get to the jetty early but the GPS chose this time to play with us. It brought us around KL until Alan was so pissed off he called his colleague to ask for directions. From then onwards, our drive to Lumut jetty was pretty smooth.

We got to the jetty at around 10+am and made it in time for an early ferry that was not in the schedule to take off. Check in was done at the ferry terminal and we were pleasantly surprised by the efficiency and the level of courtesy. :)

Our ferry ride to Pangkor Laut island was ard 45mins and the irritant of a Chinese lady kept bumping her seat connected to ours in her bid to make small talk with her relatives seated behind. It added to bumpy ride.

We were awe-struck when we arrived at the island. The resort was a gorgeous one with beautiful architecture. The welcome at the front desk was very warm as well. Apart from a delicious welcome drink and cold towels, we were greeted by our young and handsome (and FRENCH) 'butler' who painstakingly explained the facilities on the island and what to expect. He helped us by booking us a private dinner on the beach with the most beautiful sunset, at emerald bay and also on the 9-island hopping cruise. Then he escorted us to our Sea Villa.

Ahhhh.. The luxuries in life. Our Sea Villa was very private and near the far end of the resort. It is the second most expensive villa in the island. The first being the Spa Villas. We unlocked our villa door to find a really luxurious wooden bedroom, a huge toilet and a big bath overlooking the sea. Also, we had a balconey where we could sunbathe and the view of the huge expanse of the sea was breath-taking!

Hungry from our long journey to the island, we called for a shuttle bus (the service is provided daily till midnight) and waited at our doorstep to be whisked off to emerald bay's chapman's bar for lunch.

Suherti welcomed us immediately and put us at ease with his easy smiles and warmth. Alan had a mee mamak (which came highly recommended) and I had a chicken chop. Although the meal was rather pricey, we both enjoyed it. After the meal and because we were rather exhausted from the journey, we returned to our villa to rest.

Dinner was an extravagant affair and we had the WHOLE BEACH to ourselves. It was THAT exclusive. As we took millions of pictures and watched the sunset, the waiters prepared our delicious meal, fit for kings and queens.

Our first course was the ceasar salad which was fresh and really yummy and next came the creamy tom yum soup to wet our taste buds. The main course was a huge bbq lobster each with potatoes and some salad at the side. The dessert was served in half a honeydew (that functioned as a bowl) and there were different cut fruits inside, such as strawberries, apples and the likes.
Needless to say, we both had a fantastic time which was made even more memorable when Mages, the manager i/c there treated us like we were royalty and even lent us his fishing rod and dug up some prawns from the kitchen as bait, so that we could fish from our own villa!!! 10 points for service man!

We took the shuttle back to the villa and immediately started to embark on our new adventure excitedly. Alan hooked up the fishing rod and taught me how to cast the line. And then we waited.. sure enough, there WERE fish! But all were caught by The Husband. and all were small and not very exciting.. We slept at almost one am that night, enthralled by the fishing experience, right at our doorstep!

31 May 2008 (Saturday)

We had to wake up pretty early (around 7+) as we had to be at the jetty for our 9-island hopping expedition at 9am. However, our oriental junk did not leave the jetty until around 10am. We should have stayed in bed longer! We had 4 angmoh adults onboard and a 3-year old punk-looking chap called Luca. There were 2 other asians, one of which was working at the resort.

Alan and I commenced our journey by basking in the sun on the deck. We were presented with a platter of breakfast items (crossiant, muffin, custard crossiant and some fruits) by the very polite waiter on board who declared that this was just a 'small breakfast'. hahaa. After we feasted, we lay down to nap under the sun.. Ahhh such is the Life!

Our junk stopped near an island and we were all encouraged to go snorkelling. Alan was the first off the boat (surprisingly) and we swam hand in hand (literally) and saw puffer fish, corals and what looked like (delicious) sea cucumber to Alan. ahahaha. There were many schools of ikan bilis-looking fish as well.

After that, we cast our lines and tried to catch some fish. Alan and I groaned as the angmoh reeled in garoupa after garoupa but our baits were ignored. Finally, the boatman decided to switch location and brought us to a new place. It was there that Alan and I managed to catch a garoupa each! Hahahha. How fun. err.. ok let me confess: I initially thought I had caught a fish because I had felt the tugs and struggling. However, the line got stuck perhaps in some rocks under the boat and the boatman was the one who had helped me reel in the line, together with the fish. The fish caught was very small so I threw it back into the water but Alan wanted his for our dinner!
It was 3+pm when we headed for the nearby island for lunch. Oh what a spread! A bbq fire was already roaring and our chef and her assistants were all a-waiting. Our beach umbrellas had been opened and we dined in the shelter seated on comfy beach towels. What luxury!

Our first course was DELICIOUS. Very thai with papaya salad, duck salad, caesar salad and some stuff toufo. We were also served otak, sea bass, king prawns, lamb curry with nasi and also chicken tandori. We polished off most of the food as we were starving from all that activity!

Then, we returned to the boat again and once again cast our lines.. I must say, fishing is very addictive! (Especially if you catch something). Go try it, if you haven't. Deep sea fishing is indeed an experience not to be missed. :) it's very exhilirating to feel the tug on the line and feel the fish struggling and fighting. Ofcourse, the sight of the hook embedded into the mouth of the fish is pretty heart-wrenching. OUCH! :~

It was 6+pm when the junk arrived again at the jetty and we tumbled out exhausted but very pleased and satisfied from the whole experience, even though Alan's garoupa had been accidentally thrown back into the sea. hahaha

Once we returned to our villa, it was time to cast our rod again. Mages had provided us with a great pasttime in our villa and we endeavoured to catch our dinner. Alan caught a red snapper within the first hour and when he was in the toilet freshening up, I actually caught one myself!!!! I tell you, the experience was exhilarating! When I finally reeled up the fish, I was beaming with pride. hahahaa.

After a few more hours with no more catch, we brought the two fishes to Uncle Lim's, a Chinese restaurant very near our villa. We requested for the fishes to be steamed and ordered some beef and fish maw soup to serve as our dinner. the food was very disappointing as it had come highly acclaimed and it was very costly and utterly not worth the price! but the experience of eating your own catch was interesting and priceless. :D

1 june 2008 (Sunday)

I set my alarm to sound at 6am to catch the sunrise (and more fish)...but the moon was still in the sky then. At around 8+am, Alan caught our first and only catch of the day. Another red snapper. he took a nap whilst I tried my darnest to catch something , to no avail...

We went to chapman's bar again for lunch and to return the rod and stuff to Mages. My chicken sandwich did not satisfy as much as Alan's beef burger. Then, I went back to soak in the tub whilst my sickly husband had another nap. Alan had been coughing for the longest time, BEFORE the trip. And of cos, all the naughty food didn't help matters at all.

Soon, it was time to say goodbye to Pangkor Laut resort and we heaved a huge SIGH each as the speed-boat left the jetty at 320pm and along the way splashed some salty sea spray onto me.

The drive back from Lumut to Sri Tiara was exceptionally tiring, especially for the driver who wasn't feeling very well but we arrived safe and sound thankfully. A delicious dinner at Robson's marked the end of our PLR 3D2N Luxurious Escapade!
Thank you baby for the lovely experience! :D Happy Anniversary again! May we manage to top this experience when we celebrate our wedding anniversary together every year!!! Muahahha
